Participation in school gardens has been shown to improve academic performance, influence better eating habits, and improve mental, physical, and behavioral health! In keeping with our mission “to cultivate, guide and encourage shared community values of healthy living and lifelong learning” the BELL Garden conducts an after school student garden club. In this club we teach the students how to plant, maintain and use many of the vegetables in the garden. One mother was recently heard saying “you have turned my daughter into a Green Thumb! She just loves the garden club.”
