Are you excited to garden yet overwhelmed by all the information?  Are you curious about “companion planting” but are afraid it is a dating app? Do you want to know what those numbers on a fertilizer bag mean?

If so, this class is for you. Julie and Missy are ready to help you get started and answer (most) of your gardening planning questions. In addition, they will help attendees move towards being Smart Yard Certified!

Do you realize that everything you do in your garden impacts our creeks and streams? In this class we’ll include a short lesson on how to become a Certified Tennessee Smart Yard – a yard and garden that achieves your goals while improving the land and water around you. Acting on the information taught in this class will get you one-fourth of the way towards your Certification! We count actions as inches; 36 inches qualify your yard for Smart Yard Certification. The actions in this class count towards 8 inches in the Tennessee Smart Yards program

Metro Water Services will be giving away a door prize of a 25# bag of Music City Gold, our slow-release, sustainable, fertilizer. You can see here how we produce the fertilizer.
